Intraoral Cameras
Rather than just shining a light into your mouth to examine it, we can now do a much better job thanks to our intraoral camera. This small device fits comfortably into the mouth and can capture highly detailed images of the teeth and gums we can display on a large monitor. This makes it easy for our team to catch potential problems, plus your dentist will be able to show you exactly what is going on with your oral health so you are always fully informed.
3D Cone Beam Imaging
3D cone beam imaging allows us to gather much more information about a patient compared to a traditional 2D X-ray. With it, we can create a three-dimensional model that shows not only the shape and position of the teeth and jaws, but also the location of sensitive facial nerves and blood vessels. This helps us tremendously when planning more complicated procedures like dental implant placement, helping us deliver consistently fantastic results while also keeping a patient as comfortable as possible.
All-Digital X-Rays
To provide our patients with superior care, our Lincoln dental office has invested in digital radiography. This advanced tool makes the X-ray process safer for patients and produces clearer images. It’s able to capture images and develop them in a matter of seconds, allowing us to quickly show a patient their own X-rays so they can know about everything going on in their mouth. Plus, the process emits 90% less radiation compared to traditional X-rays as well.
CEREC® Digital Impression System
Before we can place a crown to repair someone’s tooth, we have to take an impression of their bite. Previously, this required the patient to literally bite down into a mold filled with dental putty, but now, all we have to do is scan the teeth with a small device. These scans are then put together by software to create the perfect impression, which we can then use to design someone’s crown, bridge, or implant right on the spot, saving them a tremendous amount of time.
Biolase Soft Tissue Laser Dentistry
Using our soft tissue laser, we can help patients treat periodontal disease non-invasively, without a scalpel or stitches. As a result, patients can look forward to a faster recovery. This instrument exposes the gums to a highly-concentrated beam of light that instantly vaporizes harmful bacteria and removes infected tissue, but it leaves nearby healthy gums completely untouched. It also sanitizes and cauterizes an area as it works, making for a clean, fast, and comfortable procedure. Most patients do not even need local anesthetic to stay relaxed.
Galileos Surgical Guides
Using advanced 3D imaging and digital impressions, we can create precise surgical guides that improve our ability to place dental implants in several ways. Custom designed for each patient, they fit easily in the mouth, and on the day of the surgery, they allow our team to work more efficiently while also making the procedure more predictable and accurate. This reduces your time in the chair, helps us be more conservative to shorten your recovery, and also safeguards the short and long-term success of your dental implants.
